Lower costs and improve decision-making; use technology!

Although we all can rely on traditional methods of doing business, who has the time these days? With everything being simplified by technology, why not take advantage of it for your business? Hopefully, you have already begun streamlining some processes in your business and maybe even gone mobile, but there are endless ways that technology can increase productivity, lessen costs and improve the overall efficiency of your automotive business all the way down to decision-making.

ReconMonitor™

ReconMonitor™ increases the profitability of used car departments of dealerships, standalone used car businesses, rental car resale departments, and collision centers by reducing the time to frontline vehicles through improved reconditioning vendor evaluation and tracking.

When your organization reconditions used cars for resale, you have to deal with vendors offering services from detailing, to the repair of dents, wheels, windshields, carpet, and upholstery.

Unfortunately, manually tracking multiple vendors or employees is time consuming and prone to error. Additionally, the quality of the reconditioning work often slips through the cracks.

Now there is software to automate and manage this labor-intensive function, ReconMonitor™ from AutoMobile Technologies.

Early Warning System Keeps Repairs Moving

It’s practically impossible to keep track of the numerous details of getting a steady stream of cars frontline ready. But, with ReconMonitor™, you know which vendor or employee is doing what work and in what order.

More importantly, ReconMonitor™ will alert you if a vendor or employee gets behind schedule. The software is set up per your completion dates to send you several levels of visual alerts as any job for any car become overdue.

As soon as you get an alert you can check with the vendor or employee to see what the problem is. Your vendors are managing the details of getting many cars ready at once, but you are managing the vendors because you see the high level problems and can choose where and when to get involved or whether to change priorities or schedules or to add vendors

With ReconMonitor™ the vendors are never in the dark about the expected schedule for each vehicle. Each vendor can be authorized for access from a portal showing all their cars and expected dates for completion. From any internet-connected PC they can update the status of their work, so you always have detailed information at your fingertips.

ReconMonitor™ gives you the control you need to make sure that each vehicle is repaired as quickly as possible and gets to the sales lot. With ReconMonitor™ you’ll be able to say, “Another car, on schedule, and frontline ready.”

Features

  • Complete and immediate visibility to repair stage of each vehicle
  • Instant alerts when work on any vehicle is behind schedule
  • Dealer can easily generate invoices, rather than relying on vendor invoices
  • Improved tracking and signoff of vendors’ work
  • With no installation, dealers and vendors have instant access via PC to information

Benefits

  • Your time to frontline ready is much faster
  • You reduce the cost of reconditioning each vehicle by paying only for necessary, completed work
  • You never pay your vendors until your inspector gives the OK, then an invoice is generated to the vendor
  • You can monitor your process to avoid bottlenecks
  • You can reduce vendor costs by using detailed service reports

How It Works

  • Preferred reconditioning vendors and the predefined costs-per-car each vendor can charge for the standard services are entered into the ReconMonitor™ database.
  • When a used car enters the reconditioning process, an inspector uses either a handheld computer/scanner or cell phone to enter the car’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and a few other pieces of information for each type of service.
  • The inspector identifies work to be done and with a few clicks the system automatically sends work orders to the appropriate vendors.
  • ReconMonitor™ automatically creates a work order and sends it with required scheduled to the vendor who can access via any PC.
  • As each vendor completes his tasks for each vehicle they enter a “job complete” note into the computer, which then advances to the next repair task in the sequence.
