Nov, 10 2008 - Spending Smart in Uncertain Times

When the economy looks less than certain, the gut instinct of many business owners is to immediately halt all capital expenditures. This instinct is particularly strong in the paintless dent removal industry. AutoMobile Technologies (AMT), a software development company delivering applications for auto reconditioning operations, has announced a revolutionary computer system product that uses smart phones or handheld computers to identify, estimate, book, and bill reconditioning work.

Recon Pro, which integrates with QuickBooks® and other accounting software, tracks every vehicle by VIN and creates customized reports that allow the vendor and the dealer to quickly see revenue, profit, service writer and technician sales.

“Reconditioning companies have been inadequately served by computer technology,” said Paul Maximov, president of AutoMobile Technologies. “Through the use of mobile devices such as smartphones, bar code scanners, and Web-based software, we have developed a system for recon business owners to better manage their operations.”

The software supports a variety of reconditioning services, including paint less dent repair, paint touchup, interior repair, wheel and windshield repair, and auto detailing. Each recommended service is entered on a smart phone or handheld computer by the service estimator; a service estimate is calculated, and printed at the push of a button.

Recon Pro also provides an “executive dashboard” that can be viewed from any authorized PC with Internet access. Easy-to-read, customized charts and reports summarize critical business data for reconditioning companies and dealerships, including a summary of estimates, work orders, revenue, productivity, and other information central to a reconditioning business’s profitability.

The software will be available for first customer ship in the fall of 2007.
